Surgeon, David Bailie, MD


Dr. Bailie is an expert in the field of sports medicine. His practice focuses on the state-of-the-art treatment of shoulder, elbow, and knee disorders.

He has been practicing since 1990, when he earned his medical degree, graduating with the highest honors and number two in his class of 250, from the Indiana University School Of Medicine. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthpaedic Surgeons. He completed his residency at the prestigious Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago and a fellowship at the Baylor Sports Medicine Institute in Houston, Texas.

He has served as part of the medical staff for the Houston Astros, the Houston Rockets, and Houston Oilers, and the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs professional sports teams.

He currently serves as physician for five local high schools and is a consultant to USA Women's Gymnastics. He treats numerous professional athletes, of all sports, as an independent consultant.

Dr. Bailie has published numerous articles on sports medicine, knee and shoulder surgery, and presented on a variety of topics at medical centers, universities, and professional meetings, both in the U.S. and abroad. He holds numerous memberships in such prestigious organizations as the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, American Arthroscopy Association, American Medical Association, AOA National Medical Honor Society, American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons, National Academy of Sports Medicine, and the American College of Sports Medicine. He has served as liaison to the Healthcare Reform Committee for the State of Arizona and currently is Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital-North. Dr. Bailie is from Indianapolis, Indiana.

Moderator, Philip M. Jacobs, MD

Dr. Jacobs is a graduate of University of Nebraska at Omaha, Omaha, Nebraska where he received a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. He received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical School in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Jacobs did his residency at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He completed fellowships in Sports Medicine and Shoulders at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Jacobs is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
