Is there any problem in doing this Arthroscopic proceedure when extensive arthritis is also present? My surgeon has used the former proceedure on the other shoulder, but he might feel alright in the Arthroscopy on this alternate shoulder. Is there a problem with ARthritis in the proceedure?

In patients with arthritis caused by cuff arthropathy (large to massive tears) with extemely retracted cuff tears, the procedure may not be possible. Patients with concomitant arthritis need to be treated on a individual basis contingent upon the size of the tear, amount of arthritis, age of the patient. thanks sdmartin
