The presentations were part of a three-day course that focused on new discoveries and developments concerning the etiology, pathophysiology, surgical and nonsurgical therapies and outcomes-based research for short bowel syndrome (SBS). The symposium was designed for pediatricians, neonatologists, transplant surgeons, gastroenterologists, pediatric surgeons, family practice physicians, nurses, dietitians, mid-level providers and parents/guardians who care for children with short bowel syndrome and small bowel intestinal transplants.
