Target Audience: pediatric faculty, house officers, community physicians, medical students and nurses.

Educational Objectives:

  • Recognize the role for and limitations of ecmo support as a bridge to transportation
  • Recognize the role for and limitations of currently available ventricular assist devices (VADs)
  • Discuss the unique obstacles faced in developing VADs for children.
