Internationally renowned authority, Ron G. Rosenfeld, MD, discussed the latest on the endocrine basis of growth and development at the 31 st Annual Frederic M. Kenny, MD, Memorial Lecture. Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, along with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics and Center for Continuing Education in the Health Sciences, hosted this special continuing medical education event. Dr. Rosenfeld’slecture, “Do Boys and Girls Grow Differently: The Evolution of Sexually Dimorphic Growth,” showcased his more than 25 years of experience of studying and understanding the biology of growth hormone and growth factors. His work has elucidated physiological, pathological, cellular and molecular aspects of mammalian growth, as well as the role of growth factors and their receptors in the fetus, newborn, child and adult in health and disease
