Educational Objectives:

Primary care physicians, internists, family practitioners, osteopathic physicians, nurse practitioners, and specialists will learn to risk stratify patients at risk for osteoporosis and /or related complications, and identify optimal therapeutic approaches.

Primary care physicians, internists, family practitioners, osteopathic physicians, nurse practitioners, and specialists will learn to undertake a systematic evaluation of patients at risk for osteoporosis, including radiological examination and appropriate laboratory markers.

Primary care physicians, internists, family practitioners, osteopathic physicians, nurse practitioners, and specialists will learn evidence-based approaches to reducing progression of osteoporosis and risk of fracture complications.

Clinicians will learn how to select safe and effective pharmacotherapy for prevention and treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis.

Clinicians will learn how landmark trials and analyses focusing on BMD, bisphosphonate therapy, predictive risk, and fracture reduction should guide clinical management of patients with osteoporosis.
