Boston: October 4, 9 a.m. EDT – Transcatheter Pulmonary Valve (TPV) implantation
Cardiology – Cardiologists from Children's Hospital Boston will implant a Transcatheter Pulmonary Valve (TPV), currently in clinical trial at Children's Hospital Boston and two other pediatric hospitals in the United States. This non-surgical treatment restores effective pulmonary valve function and potentially prolongs the functional life of regurgitant and/or stenotic right ventricle to pulmonary artery conduits. Children's has one of the largest pediatric Cardiac Catheterization Programs in the country, performing over 1,500 cardiac catheterization procedures per year.
