Dr. Stelzer has extensive experience in the use of various arterial conduits for myocardial revascularization and in complex valve procedures including mitral homograft and stentless bioprosthesis for aortic valve replacement (Medtronic Freestyleâ„¢) for which he was one of the principle investigators. His experience with the Ross Procedure in over 370 patients is one of the most extensive in the world.
Dr. Stelzer has served on the faculties at Cornell-New York Hospital and the University of Oklahoma. Prior to joining the cardiac team at Beth Israel he was an attending cardiothoracic surgeon at Lenox Hill Hospital.
