Dr. Onopchenko graduated from Ursinus College with a BS in Biology in 1979 on the Dean's Academic Honors list. He obtained his doctorate in medicine from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1984 with honors, completed a residency in general surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1989, and has been a practicing general and vascular surgeon in Atlantic County since July of 1989. Dr. Onopchenko is Board Certified in General Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a Fellow in the American Society of Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Onopchenko has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery. He was one of the first surgeons to perform a laparoscopic cholecystectomy in Atlantic County. Dr. Onopchenko's interest in bariatrics comes from seeing friends and family struggle with obesity and recognizing such a great need for bariatric services in the southeastern New Jersey region.

Dr. Aarons graduated from Lafayette College, Easton, Pennsylvania, with an AB in Biology in 1965. He earned his doctorate in medicine from Hahnemann Medical College, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1969. He completed his internship and residency in general surgery Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Pennsylvania. He is Board Certified in General Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Aarons is the Director of General Surgery at Atlantic City Medical Center. Dr. Aarons has a long-standing interest in bariatric and laparoscopic surgery.
