Liver Cancer: On June 19th at 7:00 PM EDT, Dr. David Iannitti of the Carolinas Medical Center will present a pre-coagulative liver resection.

Before the procedure, Dr. Iannitti will appear live and explain the advantages of using pre-coagulative technology in the treatment of liver cancer. Dr. Iannitti says, "Since most patients with malignancies cannot have their tumors removed but have disease confined to the liver, then we can use radio frequency energy as a method to destroy the liver tumors rather than taking them out. It can also be used to assist in liver resections where if somebody has disease on both sides of the liver, we may be able to resect one part of the liver. Then if there's some minimal residual disease on the other side, use radio frequency energy to destroy those tumors." Dr. Iannitti will also be accepting live email questions after the procedure.
